Traditional Chinese Medicine
Acupuncture is an ancient healing practice that originated in China over 2,000 years ago. It is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and involves the regulation of Qi, the vital energy that flows through the body along pathways we refer to as channels. When Qi becomes blocked or unbalanced, it can lead to pain or illness.

In my practice I use a combination of three types of acupuncture: TCM, Five Elements acupuncture, and Applied Channel theory. I use fine, sterile needles inserted at specific points on the channels to restore balance, encourage the body’s natural healing processes, and promote overall well-being.

What to Expect
During your first session, we will discuss your main complaint in depth, and investigate all aspects of your health and health history.
I will take your pulses, look at your tongue and feel the channels on your lower arms and lower legs. All this information will help me to understand your constitution and create the best possible treatment plan suited specifically to you.
The acupuncture session itself is surprisingly relaxing! I will gently place needles in carefully chosen points and they will be left in for around 20-40 minutes while you rest. You may feel a slight sensation as the needles are inserted, but most people find the experience calming.

I may use other Chinese Medicine treating techniques such as moxibustion, cupping or guasha.
