Facial Rejuvenation FAQs
Please get in touch if you have any further questions.
How is facial acupuncture different from Botox or fillers?
Facial acupuncture works by supporting your skin’s natural vitality rather than freezing muscles or adding volume.
Fine needles stimulate circulation and collagen production while body points support hormonal balance, digestion and nervous system regulation. Results develop gradually and aim to look natural and refreshed rather than altered.
Does facial acupuncture hurt?
Most people find facial acupuncture very comfortable. The needles are extremely fine and placed gently.
You may feel slight tingling or warmth in some areas. If you’re particularly sensitive or nervous, please let me know — treatments can always be adapted to be very gentle.
How many sessions will I need?
Facial acupuncture works best as a course of treatments.
A common starting point is weekly sessions for 6–8 treatments, depending on your goals and skin condition. After this, sessions are spaced out for maintenance — often monthly or every 4–6 weeks.
We’ll discuss a plan that feels realistic and supportive for you.
When will I see results?
Some people notice improved glow and relaxation after the first session.
More visible changes in skin tone, texture and fine lines tend to develop gradually over several treatments as circulation and collagen production are supported.
Facial acupuncture is a cumulative process rather than an instant fix.
Can facial acupuncture help with acne?
Yes — particularly when acne is linked to stress, digestion or hormonal imbalance.
Treatment usually includes body acupuncture alongside facial points, as well as personalised lifestyle and supplement guidance to support skin health from the inside out. This combined approach is often very effective for improving acne over time.
In some cases, I may also recommend working alongside a Chinese medicine herbalist for additional internal support, creating a more comprehensive approach to skin healing.
Is there any downtime?
There is usually little to no downtime.
Occasionally, minor redness or a small bruise may occur, but most people return to normal activities straight away. Many feel relaxed and refreshed after treatment.
Will I still look like myself?
Yes — absolutely.
The aim of facial acupuncture is not to change your features, but to support skin vitality, circulation and muscle tone so you look well-rested and naturally refreshed.
